Multifunctional PA6 composites using waste glass fiber and green metal organic framework/graphene hybrids

Abstract Glass fiber‐polyamide 6 (PA6) composites are widely used for various automotive applications, yet the ability to exhibit multifunctional properties and cost of it remains challenging. Herein this work introduces a cost‐effective approach utilization waste glass fiber (GF), green aluminium metal organic framework (Al‐MOF), industry‐grade graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) fabrication PA6 thermoplastic with enhanced mechanical performance fire retardancy. The results demonstrate that hybrid filler Al‐MOF GNPs have synergistic effect in improving retardancy GF reinforced composites. Compared neat PA6, composite containing 20 wt% GFs, 5 GNPs, exhibited ~97% ~93% improvements tensile flexural strength, respectively. Also, compared 27 55°C increases were observed transition temperature ( T g ) heat deflection temperature, Thermal stability GFs/PA6 significantly improved when hybridized Al‐MOF.
